FWD/RWD compatability?
I was wondering if the throttle bodies are the same between the s13 det and u12 det? Trying to see if I could use an after market Hi-Throttle Pulley from a s13 det TB? Any info would be great and maybe we could use this thread to state the compatabilitys between all sr20 engines.

I put both compatability/interchangability in the search on the old forum and came up with zilch. I'm not really a noob that doesn't know how to use the search button. I just don't know the key word(s) to look for I guess.

Hey fro, I also noticed your post about rwd clutches and flywheel on fwd det's on the old forum. I still haven't found a clear answer about them fitting on a U12. I put a brand new spec fwd clutch in my p10 w/u12 and it ran perfect until just about after the 500 mile break in period. Now it's slipping just like the worn out clutch this replaced. Can you or anybody confirm or deny if I need a FWD or RWD clutch before I order another FWD clutch?

this is the part in question

i have wondered the same thing. its an "over drive" pully for the TB...........less pedal input more throttle responce. the one i posted is for use on a KA TB. and it gets rid of the cruise control pully.

in anyone has a KA and a SR trottle body laying around they should find out if it will work. just see if the stock pullies are interchangeable.

Well, if you spelled compatibility that way, it's no surprise you didn't come up with anything.

The FWD and RWD throttle bodies are interchangeable as far as I can tell. The coolant lines point in slightly different directions, and NONE of the RWD TBs have the dual pullies for cruise.

That said, don't know if that pulley would work on a FWD motor. The slot may be at the wrong angle, possibly. The consensus in the RWD community, regarding that pulley, seems to be "what the hell is the point?" Very, very few are using them from what I've seen.

There are tons of threads on FWD/RWD commonality. Try searching for FWD, RWD, and whatever part you're trying to verify.

Yes thats basically the same thing. The one I was looking into was blue, which is kinda what the color theme of my engine bay will end up being. Here is the exact one, I didn't bid though...went to high for me:

I don't remember how I spelled it, but I don't remember the spell check putting a red line under it... it give the right spelling a whirl. Thanks Ritt

That what I was thinking, but if it was funtional and served a better purpose than stock, I would have picked it up for $20-30.
