Thread: CS dogbone mount install issue.

This man speaks the truth. With the prothanes sometimes you gotta mess around a little.

No doubt it's nice, was just curious where this two bushing mount came from.

I will explain to you how to put it in.

1. loosen the bolts on the block, I want you to reverse them out half of the way. This will give you front movement.

2. Get a jack and lift up the motor until it is horizontal with the hole on the x memeber.

3. The whole should line up.

4. If it does not line up I want you to looses all the engne mount bolts, reverse them out 1/8". This means the back one for the X member, The front tranny mount and side tranny mount by the head. This should give enough movement for everything to line up.

5. when everything is lined up retighten.

If you're jacking the engine up enough to lift the entire front of the car and it's not moving at all, I'm thinking the mount and bushing are caught on something inside the crossmember mount.

Well I got all the mounts bolted up but the dog bone is still at an angle so I just have to make some fine adjustments. I think I might have bent an axle trying to shift the engine over because I am getting some horrible vibrations from that area when driving.

It would take alot more force than that to bend your axle, plus it should have no effect with how your motor mounts line up even it is was bent.

I don't run a dog bone mount and everything is fine
