Tough going into gear. HELP!
Ok so on the way to school today i do my first burtnout in the rain with my new clutch and flywheel. I didn't take it that high in the rpm's. The clutch and flywheel have 832.7 miles on it exactly, so its broken in.
The transmissions mileage is unknown to me because i bought it off of some guy in alabama...

So anyway im having trouble getting it into gear. when in nuetral it will only move freely form the center to the left. to move it to the right i have to give it some extra pressure. it goes into 5th fine and does not pop out. reverse is a b*tch to get in and 1st 2nd and 3rd anre hard as well. It goes into gear and drives but its hard to get into gear.

Clutch is adjusted properly so i dont think that would contribute.

Time for a new tranny...?

any help.... Please.

I ahve so many tranny problems in the 10 months of owning this car and i want them gone!

Check your rear motor mount, and check your shift linkage for looseness.

Rear motor mount first, though.

BTW I have prothanes so do you think it may have just ripped the bolts out?

any other input?

What do you mean it's hard to get it into gear? Just hard, or does it grind?

When you said it was hard to move it to the right and into 5th and reverse the first idea that popped into my head was that your shift lever return spring broke (I go through one or two a year). It is the spring above the catalytic converter that returns the shift lever to the 3rd/4th position while in neutral. Does the shifter flop to the left easier than normal now?

I don't think this is your problem, but it's worth a look?

I kind of have a similar problem that i was able to make better. It seems your linkage is binding or loose. Check where it mounts under the shifter, make sure that the rear mount of the shifter is tight and not broken. Check the linkages to make sure they are not bent or loose on either end.

do you have a short shifter in there or have you done the sway bar bushing mod?

It does not grind but i have to shove it into gear. It flops over the the left and does not return when moved to the right. Its hard to explain i am going to try and upload a video in a bit to show you exactly what is happening.

All gears work but its a pita to selact a gear. Its currently raingin and inorder to get under the car i needa find some cardboard, due to lack of gurrage .

That's nothing I've ever seen, nor can I come up with a reason for it. Looks like that spring I was talking about is missing for sure, but maybe it broke and got hooked on something else and you have to fight against it when moving the lever up and down? I dunno man. First thing I would check is the entire linkage situation and your rear engine mount. See if anything is out of place, missing, broken, or lodged in there anywhere.
