Misfire or stumble at high RPM
I have put about 2500 miles on my VE since moving it to a new car...
It has been running fine, and I have ran it hard quite a few times, frequently doing 7500rpm pulls, etc.
The motor seems to be rock solid, although I could probably free up some more horses with a dyno tune.Really hasnt missed a beat the whole way until the other night.

I took a drive out of town about an hour away, and the car runs great, switching cams, etc.
On the way back,I went to pass and dropped to third and accellerated. At about 6000 rpm,WOT it was like someone turned of the key for a second and the car was dying.
I let up off the gas and it came back.If I eased into it it seems ok,but if I try to stab it...same thing.
Seems like in third or fourth it is worst, only high rpms(over 5500).
If I just drive around normally...no misfires,perfect idle,etc

It seems like it starts doing this after the car has been running a while.I always warm up the car before driving it,and it seems to rev ok for short drives.

This has happened a couple times before while turning and accellerating hard ....but both times I had like 1/4 tank of gas and after filling up it seemed to go away....The last couple of days,I had plenty of gas.

Whatever it is seems to be getting worse....like less time driving before you can rev it out aggressively without bogging.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Jay.

always 93...its a VE.
I am changing the plugs today, since they have some mile on them...just to take that out of the loop.
Thing is it never misses a beat at idle or when not WOT high rpm

I seem to have the same issue but mine will make the car stall completely. It has to be maf or internal coil on the distributor.Initially mine did the same thing, but some 4 months or so it just now started again and it cuts off.

I agree with Andrew(nj)
Check the MAF, MAF wiring/connector, and ground.
I had a similar problem with my turbo car:
