The tune I'm running is still at stock 15 for idle, but I found one setup for JWT C3's and the stock timing with it was set at 25. Not sure why though.

Sounds like something is wrong with your car (the backfires). I was running S3s with JWT ECU and found on the dyno that 16* was a good base setting for power output. Same setup with stock cams needed a little more timing. What ECU are you running?

When my car was N/A, I ran 19* with BC STG 2's on 91 octane. Once boosted, I dropped timing back down to 15*, since that's what Calum recommended. He said that when you're actually tuning the car, it's best to leave the ign. timing at 15* so it's easier to tune. Adding timing in the map is better.

No downside to changing timing, other than losing a little bit down low. You'll gain more from mid to high RPM though.

Best to get a REAL tune, so you make more power everywhere.

That's what I thought.....I'm gonna try it back at 19*. n see how it goes.it's the stock ecu too......so.....
