cams and timing
you guys with s3s,s4s, BC2s , BC3s ..what ignition timing are you running? just wondering cuz i thik i need to reset mine...after my cam install i thinnk its really sunning rich... i can smell lots of gas downshifting, and when i shift in the 4-5k rpm range it ALWAYS backfires between shifts....

how would it bee runnifn rich after a cam install? i know it really needs to be tuned liek with an safc, but what can i do else?

what spark plugs and gap should i be running with my mod in my sig?

what timing should i be set at?

What cams do you have and are you sure mechanical cam timing is correct?

I'm running the BC3's at stock base timing (15 degrees)

Im running the s4's with about 17 degrees. Using the bkr6e-11 at a .47 gap. But you should back it down to 15 degrees.

after i put in my BC2s my ns runs really rick...it would bafire and gugrle when downshifting and between shifts...

i set my TPS to .40 closed and 4.30 WOT..that helpd a good amount ...i mean signifacnt amount with the backfires and gugrleness

and i gapped my plugs from .44 to .35 and it helpd again....my plugs were also brown ish color...

but know it feels weak down low, but thats how thees cams are i guess...

I was about to ask a similar question...

Im about to install S3 JWT cams on my b13, and JWT says to adjust your timing to factory stock setting... hmmmmm.... 15° + - 2° ??

My friends over at the mexican forum tell me not to go over 15° (may be because the really bad gas we get here)

Has any one gone 17° on S3 o S4? any knocking?? do you recomend goning for the bkr-7 plugs if so?

old thread....but is anyone with cams running 17*+ timing? whats the setup?


is there any downside to change the timing with bc stage 2s?
