ACT Clutch gone bad?
Pulled the tranny today, figuring I had a bad TO bearing. Well apparently not...

Also can anyone tell from these pics if my Pressure Plate is still usable?

I think it's time to upgrade to a 6 puck :/

K good to know, I think I'm gonna try a Sprung 6 Puck. I don't think it helped how much power I was putting to the disk lol Even though I didn't drive it that hard.

why did you think it was the to bearing? were you having a rattling noise? these tranny threads worry me.

i have a rattle from the tranny once its hot. the rattle ceases if i pressed down the clutch pedal.

i will be the one to say it, with my experience with almost every available clutch not in my car but in buddies car, the ACT clutch disks have way way outlasted any other disk from stock to jwt, spec, and more.

I will say ive never had any problems, What the hell did you do to make that happen, although the street discs are not near as beefy as the puck disks for the same reason that people who get puck disks are the ones that more likely to abuse them and race them. So them make them beefier, all the way from the thickness of the center section metal to the springs, to the rivets. So yeah im gonna say that ACT rocks, So far ive used an ACT 4 puck unsprung, no problems and used it until i figured i would replace it due to wear on the disk then switched to a 6 puck sprung and so far its handled every one of my turbo setups with no slipping, spitting springs, or anything, Then so far it handled around 450whp on my last setup with no slipping at all.

So yeah tell me why should i not say ACT is the bomb, cuz plain out fact is that they are better than every other clutch out there except the twin or triple disk clutches by clutchmasters. So yeah case closed. How many threads on this forum are about an ACT clutch going bad, I bet this one only. Again case closed. The win goes to the defendant.

I was driving normal when it happened haha went to shift into 3rd at like 4k rpm and it wasn't there hahah Think maybe a BAD TO Bearing could cause this?

No its usually just hard abuse that does that, but when it actually fails its usually when driving normal, a tob will do nothing to cause that. They are usually just to the point of breaking and then they fall apart, ive never had a clutch disk fail while abusing it, its always while driving being thats where the car spends most of its time.
