Thread: Where's this leak coming from? [vid incl]

My car sprung a leak gang, it appears to be coolant. My car sat all through the winter, broken. I just got her on the road again with all new suspension, tires, brakes, etc. This is disheartening, but I understand it's probably because it sat so long. I'm thinking a freeze plug or coolant line behind the motor...I'll be removing the intake manifold today to get a closer look because I can't see crap with everything in the way..here's a vid for you guys to get an idea. Any suggestions/ideas as always are welcome..

could be the lines that go to the tb. i didnt get them tight when i did my swap and they leaked. pita to get to as well, at least on a highport. also check the heater hoses, looks to far over but it could be where they connect to the thermostat as well.

I just got back from the local shop, we put the vehicle on a lift. It's a coolant hose above, right of my starter. Tomorrow I'm gonna drain the coolant, remove the starter, take the hose down to Advance and get them to cut me a new piece, slap it in and I should be good. Sound good to you guys?

its the coolant hose for heater .. heater return line hat comes from firewall that goes onto motor

If that were a freeze plug, it would be gushing out. This shows you where most of the connections are on the rear of the motor. The red portions are available from Gspec for like 15 bucks. They are silicone and pretty much never need to be replaced after you get them in. All of this, assuming you have a highport in that egg of yours

It's the one on the left, blair. I saw them on Gspec but really don't have the time to get them, I want this fixed now and that's why I'll just get some generic hose from Advance..but thanks for th epic, that helps me prepare for what's ahead today.

do it! once you take these hoses off you will know how much of a pain it is to do it without taking the motor out. Mine was out and i took the chance to change them. That and like 10 local members harrasse me on getting them because they will never go bad. Pm keo he has a set available if you dont mind the wait. i personally would.

The hose is in, and it was a royal pain in the ass. Now, we are stuck putting the starter back in. The ground wire for the starter seems to have completely disappeared? I can't find it. This is nuts. Where does the starter ground lead, so I can go there and trace it back? I can't find it, this is ridiculous..

Starter is grounded by the bolts. No wire for it.

Exactly. It's amazing to me how many people forget this simple fact.
