VE engine vs VE headswap Poll
Mods I dont know what section this thread should go in so if you want to move it to the appropriate section that would be cool

So I have the option of going VE finally. The only thing is I dont know which route to take. I DO NOT want to go turbo. At first I was going to go with a VE headswap on a stock 98 USDM SR20DE block because I wanted to retain my WP PS and Crank underdrive pullies. But now that I eliminated the mechanical WP and PS system I dunno what to do. What are the pros and cons and what are the estimated price tag on the 3 options? What would YOU do and why?

I can either get a stock SR20VE engine and swap it into my car

I can keep the SR20DE block with the 8CW crank and swap a VE head on it

I can keep the SR20DE and add JWT S4s and a Calum RT to my mods and spray a 100 shot (see mods in my thread in sig)

spray is weak sauce, its like cheating, i mean on a fully built race car i can see its use.. but not on a street car..

well i dunno if its cheating. youre still adding power to the engine right? now if you go around town saying "oh i wasnt spraying dude" like alot of the honda kids do then yeah thats pretty dishonest. I like nitrous. If you see in my sig my best dyno was a 217whp with a 75 shot. I ass raped a VE P11 G20 one night on the street. Dude didnt think I could beat him with nitrous.

well ya thats kinda what i mean.. i like my power to be true, just what the engine can make on its own.. turbos are always there, same with s/c's.. but if you run out of spray you cant rely on that power it creates.. if that makes any sense.. lol

i really dont see your point^^^ turbo would be like the same thing as the bottle but you never have to refill it lol .....

i saw go VE and be done... if you already got s4 then i would just go with them and go with spray+de combo. If you dont got the s4's yet then your cost will probably be the same as going with a VE head. VE head goes for around 800 dollers. S4 go for around 350-400 used and there like what 500 new??? plus if you have to buy the nos kit thats another lets say 200??? give or take. unless you already have a nos set up for it. either way a full VE will be more expensive Vs the VE head and S4+nos combo. the the VE head and S4+nos combo will come to almost the same amount with the s4+nos being a little cheaper from my understanding n e ways

mY VE ON A 50 PULLS A LITTLE HARDER THAN MY DE DID ON A 100 SHOT, I SAY GO VE ON DE BLOCK IF YOU ARE GOING TO SPRAY.
