ATi Super Damper on the other site
Okay boys and girls...

I just put my name on the list for the ATi Super Damper, that's being custom made for our FWD SR20DE/DET/VE, on sr20forum.com.

If you don't know what it is, then go over there and click on the information link. Just figured that some of you over here don't visit there as much, or any at all, since the scuffle. I for one am definitely getting one.

The price is set at $295 plus pp fee's, and I think shipping, if there are 10 or more orders.

Go get one!

ya, the ATI super pulley is a great part, I have one on my RWDSR 240, but it was $400, so if your thinking about getting one, do it!!!!!!!!!!

is this for all pulleys or just the crank ? 300 for a crank pulley seems a bit much...

Yes, Ati super crank pulleys are expensive, but they are damped, and are worth every penny, most all Aluminum aftermarket crank pulleys are not damped, and will soon grenade your engine down the road at some point!!!!!!

Yep, it's a weighted pulley, and designed per application. (For instance, if your pushing 400~500whp, they'll make it specific to your application).

Not only are they beneficial (moreso towards high HP applications), they look sexy!

i agree and disgree with you on that. the ATI are VERY nice and WELL worth the money, but i have done ALOT of reading and i cant find any SOLID evidence that aluminum or more often with st20s the unorthadox pullies create any problems. ive read alot of threads with people running them for THOUSANDS of miles with no problems, Robchaos has ran them on all his motors for over 130k miles. im not knocking the ATI pully i will probably get one down the road, but have also not found any hard evidence suggesting that the othe types of pullies cuse ant problems

yeah ^ i agree, 300 for a dampened crank pulley is just not sensible, if your that worried about dampening the engine run the stock pulley. spend the 300 some where else on teh motor and make more money.

or... for 300 get the entire ur pulley set and never look back at the ati one...

just me 2cents.

But when you're running 500 crank hp, and your block isn't balanced to begin with, you risk a shorter life span with your internals because of the harmonics.

Personally, I feel better spending $300 on something that's going to potentially make my motor last longer

^ you have a good point, but your motor at 500whp will blow due to a boost spike, lifting the head under boost, bad head gasket, rod knock or a piston plowing threw your block, piston ring failing, then it will with not having a harmonic dampner.

look at it this way tekkie, all the big whp guys, they have never had a harmonic dampner and their motors died due to other problems and some of them still live.

im not trying to disagree with what your saying, but im just trying to point out to you 300dollars could be used else were for a greater beneficial effect to your motor.

I agree with you, as well. I just like to look at it from the point of view, that there's one less possibility that my motor could go tits up. But hey, if they're going to go, they're going to go. Right?
