hey guys im the girl you are talking about.

And yes we did this and yes it works and it works well. no it did not take long to do, one day in fact, we own a shop in Ogden Utah and my husband is a honda guy and our lead tech is a Nissan guy we put their knowledge together and made Nisda. It i on a 240 sx with ka-t who was tuned last night and made 404 whp on 18 psi here is the video

it is also on my g20 and works well on it too.

here is a quick break down of how and why we did this:
parts needed...
92-95 Honda Distributor
Honda ECU
Since we own a shop that for the last 3 years has racked up alot of these parts we thought it woud be cost effective for us.
Check list of what works and what does not work with this set up
Check engine light works
oil pressure light works
rpm and mile per hour work
coolant temp works
as far as the ECU there is a number of different softwares available, The most recent one we used is Chrome Pro, last night Courtney Green tuned the 240 on Neptune and yes Hondata will work also.

Now onto the Features, THey are unlimited, you can do all kinds of cool stuff, almost all the feature of a stand alone, we were able to use a AEM boost control Cyloniod contoled by the ECU. We are using a gm3 bar map. Courtney recomeneded we use the new 1000 cc injectors from Injector Dynamics.

we can also data log and program in real time.

I can understand how you guys would think that this is a crazy idea but it works and is cost effective and we have all the means to do it. We have 3 cars in right now that we are adding Nisda to. We are hoping to give Nissans the Honda tuning ability.

Ask any question and i wll try to get them answered and i will add videos and updates as they come. We will post the dyno plot later, with the injectors this worked amazing.
Thanks guys!

AEM looks pretty good considering all the cost and fab to use the Honda stuff. If I could go that way and stay OBDII legal, I would have a long time ago. The Nisda system is pretty cheap considering. There are some things that I don't like a lot with the system. I actually prefer having a MAF sensor over MAP. To each his own. If you can get the honda parts for a good deal I would do it.

Everyone tunes honda stuff too, so anyone has the ability to have a top notch tune performed and make the most power.

Yeah AEM seems pretty good but I have been waiting 3+ weeks for my god damn 30-1600 ecu now. I called them direct a couple of times and they seem pretty laid back over there " Oh yes sir we have your ecu it will be shipped out today or tomorrow call back for a tracking number" WTF man?!?!? Ever since I owmed my SE-R's I have always envied my honda friends with the Hondata those things has most if not all of the features of a full standalone unit launch control + anti lag etc. The real time is close but no cigar.

I've been waiting since October for a Calum ECU, the guy has WAY to much work cut out for him so I am not going to wait around any longer for his ECU.

I heard of the 1G DSM turbo ecu and harness in a 240 before but never the honda. Sweet find.

Has no one considered a nistune? NIStune - Nissan Realtime ECU tuning has a realtime board and software as well similar to Calum.
