You know what would be a great idea?

Fab up a damper system like on hatch backs, but for our cars.!

I am missing this piece as well but dont want to pull it out of the Junk yard risking messing it up so I cant install.

If you could make something like i stated that won't bind when closed i would buy in a heartbeat, so long as hardware is incuded (brakets and damper and screws/bolts)

Edit: didn't read the 98 200 part, but still if u fabbed up something for a b13 I would still buy it

I have 6.5" subs in the rear deck and retrofitted mine to used a hydraulic lift. It's much more simple than you think and it cost less than $30. I like it much more than the spring. The spring was a HUGE pain to even take out of the car, at least for me anyway.

edit: I forgot to mention, I did mine on a B13. Not sure if it makes a difference, and for pics of what it looks like go here. http://www.sr20-forum.com/audio-electronics/1863-new-polk-elemental-design-setup-b13.html

Do you have to open the trunk by hand with these or do they pop it up when to hit the lever.

Also if they do pop up when you hit the lever does the shock have to be out a litle bit when the trunk it closed?

(sorry to thread jack)
