to test this remove water pump belt an move the pulley wit your hand ... youll see what i mean.

I have a feeling this man is correct, or close. It doesn't sound like a rod bearing.

mine made the same exact noise. i would rev it up and the noise will go away. only happens ones in a blue moon. i replace the tensioner and everything went away for almost a year.then one day i herd it again.. but just like 2 times

. i also think its my water pump. i took the guid off and new style tensioner so it shouldnt make that noise. but then again its been almost a year without the noise and i know the water pump aint going to stop making noise for almost a year. so i dunno whats going on. its been a while since it made that noise since the last time i herd it...

the guide an chain.. if it were to make noise would be visable upon inspection,it aint the power steering because the power steering will give a distictive sound an will effect your steering capabilitys.... water pump is the main bet.. just geta new one... i ignored mine for several months until the lil hole on the water pump started shooting out water..

Change your water pump. Mine started making that noise as well. I also had a leaking power steering system. I got an electric water pump and ripped out my power steering system and I killed 2 birds with one stone.
