I think you're confusing excitation at various frequencies and why the stock crank pulley was designed around this (two piece with a damper between each) with internal/external balancing.

Pretty much every Nissan engine out there is internally balanced, including our SR20DE's.

Seriously, what do you not understand about internal vs. external balancing?

Look, all I'm saying is the SR20 came with a BALANCED CRANK PULLEY, it should have it installed, leave it there, or install a ATI BALANCED CRANK PULLEY!!!

Yes, I understand that!! I don't think you do!!!!

Cut your ****, you don't know what the **** you are talking about and it's 100% obvious by now.

DEFINE BALANCED CRANK PULLEY. I guarantee you will not be able to. The ATI and stock crank pulley are HARMONIC DAMPERS, not BALANCING WEIGHTS for the engine.

Get your **** straight, you think I know nothing, how wrong you are.

ive never seen so many people try to be right lol

clearly i cannot find a thread where anyone bashes the unorthadox pulley, and i have visited a few nissan forums and everyone doesnt say anythnig bad about them so whatever.

I've never seen a thread where so much misinformation was shoved in all at once..

and you would say yea well the flywheel isnt harmonically balanced, but the thing is, it is reducing and taking ALOT of weight off the flywheel side of the motor, but keeping the heavier stock pulley. you would think even tho the stock pully isnt that heavy it still doesnt serve the same pully to flywheel weight ratio as stock, so in theory, the lighter flywheel along with the lighter pully would have somewhat of the same kinda weight ratio as stock configurations. at least that is what i would think.

Where did you get this information from? I have both mods and my car is just fine....

well i hope your not saying i was misinforming anyone, taking into consideration alls i was trying to get across is that i cant find any forum where people can clearly say that some kind of failure with caused SOLely becuase of the unorthadox pullie....whichi really dont see how it even matters becuase alls the OP wanted was the belt size lol

there are many people running them without any issues and as of yet i havent came across one thread where someone had a bad expierence, it just seems like people are giving their opinions on them

They should be arguing about the lack of harmonic dampening with the UR pulley rather than arguing that the internally balanced SR20DE is put out of balance because of an external component like a flywheel or a pulley. The latter is flat out wrong. I'd argue that UR pulleys won't hurt low power setups, but when you start building an engine to insane power levels like 400 and beyond, you would want to eliminate any potential problems by running a harmonic damper (i.e. stock or ATI). The more power, the worse an out of whack harmonic frequency would be on the rotating assembly.

However, most SR modders aren't running that much more power than what a stock DET produces. There has not been one case of crank bending/rod bending because of the lack of harmonic dampening the UR crank pulley provides. I'd say that it could aggravate an existing issue, but not altogether completely cause it. It's a relatively safe mod. I guess the next thing to start keyboard jockeying about is eliminating the use of turbos, as they put more wear on the bearings and rods and ring lands?

Please understand the difference between internal and external balancing. It's another thing that makes our engines great.
