Thread: What kind of A/T fluid to use ?

I searched and I couldn't find an answer for an A/T. But what kind of transmission fluid should I use on my A/T 98' SE-R ? And how many quarts
would I need ?

dexron/mercon III is equivilant to nissan matic-D.

iirc, its about 4 qts/1 gallon that comes out to replace.

Thanks ! I read I needed Nissan Matic-D but when I looked around I couldn't find it.

Should I just get the regular priced ones or will getting something like Royal Purple have any benefits ?

Matic-D you would have to get at Nissan Dealership

and is overpriced . hence, you buy the gallon jug of mer/dex III for about 10 bucks. there is no point in going with anything super special, as nissan auto trans hit fluids hard, no matter the brand.
