We've logged over 4k track only miles on penzoil synthetic 5w30 FWIW on an engine that started out with 111k miles

I use mobil 1 15w50 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter.

Yeah Blair. I have used 15w50 for years. I have never had rod-knock with 20+SERs.
My turbo car NEVER had rod-knock and I BEAT it.
15w50 FTW and now ALL my friends use it.
