Removing Header Problem
Hey wats up guys, today i was trying to remove my header of my b13 and of course all the bolts are rusted.I used rust penetrating on all bolts . My problem is the 2 side pipes that that come off the header. Anyone has a good idea how to take them off. I tried to use the wrench but started to slip so i stoped. Thanks for the help....

Pen oil and/or use a torch to heat it up and use vise grips if you already rounded them off. If that doesn't work, unbolt the tubes from behind the motor and pull them out with the header so it will be easier to work on them.

Once they get rounded off, vice grip and hammer is the only hope. The lower fitting (AIV) can be accessed from below a little easier for some tools. The AIV will come right out with the header and a new tube is not that expensive. To get the other one to com eout with the manifold, you have to pull the distributor. It's not always easier to work on them off the engine, 'cause at least the engine holds the SOB still wile you crank on it.

Also, if you have not yet done so, pull your radiator fans to make a little more room.

I hack-sawed them and bought an EGR block-off kit.

That always works

You should have used the rust penetrating spray on the EGR tubes also.

I used PB blaster, mapp gas, and a big monkey wrench on my little brothers car. On my first motor I ended up cutting it and making a block off kit with some thick sheet metal and putting a nickel in that hole and screwing the old fitting back on lol
