My Car is overheating!
My sr20ve is overheating and I cant seem to find out what is the problem. The radiator keeps pushing the fluid to the overflow bottle.

So far I have:

1. Put on a new cap a week ago

2. Taken out Thermostat

3. Install new radiator 4 days ago.

The mechanic says it seems there is some blockage in the system and says he will check for that and check pump.

What could be the cause?

Note: I pulled the motor 2 months ago to put in pistons and using a metal head gasket. Could it be that the head needs to re-torqued?

Peace

NEVER take out your thermostat. It is there for a reason.
If it was your headgasket you would be losing coolant, not having it routed to your overflow bottle. Bleed the cooling sytem properly

If theres blockage then its not flowing through the radiator and the coolant thats stuck in your block is going to get too hot and boil back out into your overflow. Happened to me when my thermostat wasnt opening

So does he need a new thermostat? Or does he have to take the head off?

No. gasket was ok.

Found out I have cracks in # 3 & 4 cylinder chambers. Due to a bad radiator, whcih I have changed since but was too late. Have to replace the head. Luckily a buddy of mine is changing his motor (bad bearing) so i will get the head from him at a small price.

Peace
