That pic is depressing.

That was my old engine. Yup I didn't know that cars needed oil changes, I figured you just drive it, but then I found out that cars need gas too!

Nah I bought it like that by mistake

I seen someone do this in person at while I was at work. Not tranny fluid in the engine but in the gas tank.

While I was ringing up a customer. He was buying 3-4 quarts of oil (dont remember what brand) and 1 quart of Coastal ATF. I offered him the check out challenge which was the Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner. The customer grabbed the atf and tells me thats what this is. I'm like ohh okay..i didnt know that.

He was driving some sort of late 90ish/early '00 Llifted off-road diesel truck. So he was parked right outside and while I was ringing another customer I noticed that he was putting that one quart of atf into the gas tank. I was like holy ****...is that safe? (talking to myself)

Well thats something new I didnt know.

please do not ruin your engine by actually driving it with ATF. It has high detergents, but the flash point is a lot lower than oil so it burns more easily. This can ruin the cat yada yada.

Only run the engine at idle. If you want to get rid of sludge, just run a nice synthetic. My wife's car was all sludge when I bought it but now she has a nice tan, and no sludge. All I have done is switched to mobil extended performance.

Pennzoil was reformulated beginning of 2008 and I am pretty sure the synth has even more detergents than mobil. The new castrol Edge is what I will be running next.

I drove my pos festiva with ATF in it and it burn that stuff like crazy. Looked like an engine fire constantly hahaha. But the good thing is, I got free car washes. Firetrucks would just pull up and start spraying her down for me

Think about this. The truck was a DIESEL! It runs on oil. That doesn't mean you can use it in a gas tank.

Please don't do that. ATF in the gas take will plug your injectors and damage them. I wouldn't recommend that. I have a lot of customers come in buying new parts from the ATF damaging things. Pumps, injectors...

I failed to look deeply into the valve cover by removing the oil cap.

Coheed, if the engine is bad that you have to run ATF then your probably just trying to squeeze couple more months out of the engine, so cat doesn't matter hehe.

I ran my motor with 2.8qt 5w30 and 1qt of ATF for a year and thats probably the only thing that made it last that long, the motor was fully running when I pulled it too.
