ive seen exhaust couplers at kragen and autozone that sounds like what you need. that and a couple of clamps should solve your problem.

I had the same problem.
I went to advance auto and picked up a ****load of various sized coupler and clamps close to my piping size.
Took it all home, figured out what I needed, and returned the rest on my test drive after repair.I spent like 50 but got back like 30.

I was just doing a temporary fix, too.I only needed it to last for a few months.

I've done similar with tin foil. Buy some cheap foil that you don't mind wasting and pull out some really long sheets. Long enough that you can fold it up to be enough to overlap around the pipe, cover several inches on either side of the union, and be at least 1/4 inch thick or so. Make two of those, and wrap the first really tight around the union, then the second so they overlap in different places. Crank down some worm clamps over the top and you should be good. I've used that for several weeks before.

I've done that several times. The first time I didn't make it thick enough and it tore, but I haven't had any issues with thick layers. It would also help to smoth down any sharp edges.

there are exhaust sleeves for an audi that should slip over the pipe if you grind the rust off. i haven't tried this on an se-r yet, but it should work as long as it is long enough. if you measure the od of the pipe i will measure the sleeve's id, then i could get you a part number. you also could just buy a pipe expander and a small section of pipe or measure and cut the pipe and bring it down to an exhaust shop and have them expand the pipe with the hydraulic expander and a small section of exhaust pipe. expand both ends to slip over the pipe and clamp each side. this way would have more room for adjustment than the exhaust sleeve idea. sorry for the run on sentences, i'm tired

Come to think of it NAPA has hose pipe that can join this up all nice like. Is NAPA ghetto? jk I just wonder which one is most cost effective.
