Electronic Water Pump
Hey guys, I need some of your unending wisdom. I have two EWP's, and a Davies Craig controller. One of my pumps is a Meziere, and the other is a Davies Craig. I found the controller used and the guy tossed in a brand new pump, and I had already bought the Meziere pump. So I have two questions...
First, should I keep the Davies craig pieces together? Does it even matter?
Second, I've always heard that a person should run the water pump between the thermostat and the rad, but it would make more sense to me that the pump be situated between the top of the rad and the upper water neck. I know this causes some space/hose issues, but it seems to me that this would give better flow and circulation while the thermostat is closed, since it's closer to the factory water pump location. Any thoughts on this? I'm sure I can find hoses at the parts store that will allow me to situate the pump, I'm just thinking of getting good flow within the block.
Finally, should there be a thermostat at all? It seems to me that there should be, to keep warmth within the block and prevent cold running situations. Am I right there?
