Thread: oil temp gauge solution?

would this bolt work as well for the oil temp sender in the pan, rather than drilling and tapping a hole in the pan? http://prosportgauges.com/metric-adaptor-kit.aspx

I wouldn't want my sender to be in that vulnerable location and the pan is too thin to drill and tap.

I used Steve's method of using a 1" long cut piece of the thick steel bar stock from HD which is drilled and tapped and JB welded to the inside of the oil pan. Its cheap, and safe and it works perfectly.

never thought of that. that sounds better than the CS bulkhead fitting thing.
