Clutchmasters sprung disc failed on me in less than 5k miles on stock power.. spring popped out because the metal on the edge failed/snapped

I honestly don't believe there is a single clutch company out there that can make a consistently reliable clutch setup for our cars

It's either

ACT is terrible
Clutchmasters sucks
Clutchnet breaks

etc etc etc

everyone has varying opinions and it sucks :/

ACT 6 puck unsprung looks ****ing tough. IMO my next choice is going to be ACT.

I have broken an act extreme with a street disc done after 7k. I have had 2 spec clutches a sprung 4 puck and a sprung 6 puck they are decent at best. I havent personally had any experience with clutch net but from what you guys are saying i most likely dont want to deal with them.

My favorite one so far is the one i am still running which is a clutch specialties sprung 6 puck. I bought it from jgy, i dont know if thats who makes their "jgy" clutches now, but once this one goes out i will buy another for sure. It has a decent pedal feel, long life and also good tq cap, 400ish if i remember correctly. If i cant find another one i will go jwt.

Got the car back on the Road today with the Red 2x pressure plate from Clutchnet and teh ACT unsprung six puck. I drove it around about 30 miles lightly after finished it up just to get some break in time in. It Feel SOOOO much better. There pressure plate feels pretty good. It grips only slightly more then the Green one. But Its still not broken in all the way. Pedal pressure is about the same which is shoking. Also there is a bit of chatter if you dont rev match. But I always rev match. All In all I think this will be a perfect setup for what I want. With teh stock pedal feel. But hopefully itll hold my power. I wont be able to drive it again until probably monday to break it in some more. But oh well.

i could have told you that wangwang also SPRUNG is something you might want to get from now on unless torturing trannys is your thing,..

also no clutch should look like that after a yrs use..

Ive had solid mounts on this car for years now. If you name the mod the car has it. HKS Sprung is not my thing. Ive got 3 spare trannys sitting in my garage right now including one brand new 2001 G20T one and one thats not included thats in parts. I could care less about a tranny breaking (knock on wood though). What I do care about is having a clutch thatll hold my power. Its annoying knowing you can pull on this guy HARD if only you could even just turn the boost controller ON. Hopefully this will hold the power

Anyway stay away from clutchnet!

I hate clutchnet. I had three in a row, only due to the fact that the second and third were warranty replacements. This was not even a pucked clutch. They were all pressure plates that self destructed at under 10k miles. I then bought a no-name 6 puck from a local manufacturer that put up with 3 years of 18psi boost and constant beating with flawless performance. I'm on to an ACT 6 puck sprung, and we'll see how it does.
