Thread: engine is toast

so check it out, i tore my engine down yesterday to find out why it was knocking and it was pretty ugly. #3 and #4 mains were fried.
the pics are poor but i was at my buddies house and didnt have my good camera.













well, im ordering another engine/trans set and going from there.

what do you guys think of this?

as soon as i get another engine, im swapping out pistons, bearings and head gasket along with all new seals. ive got a plan for the turbo and manifold that ill be running, but for now, i need another engine.

Yep, them things look scored like crazy. There's your culprit.

Not a bad price for a complete engine & tranny. Altho, you might be able to get a better price from Tiger Japanese....

big groove on the #4 main cap too. too bad. i was hoping it would be a simple fix but the mains are just too far gone.
