I had a local shop do it, the mech had great referals and goes to the bar I cook at lol... I see the guy a few times a week and from all of our conversations he seems to really know his stuff.

But your right, he still could have overfilled it. Coulda had phone call and got distracted.... any number of things.

The dealer did order the part and will warranty it, this is after a 45 min discussion with the parts mgr. Im gonna ask nissan to step up and do the evac. and have me pay for the refig only. The bad hose is not my fault and nissan corp will pay the dealer anyway so its a win win.

Anyone have thoughts as to what else could make a new high pressure hose break?

Overfill, bad metal... is it possible with the engine shaking from bad motor mounts with high temps made the metal expand with the shaking causing the break?

Does that seem possible? Thanks.

I've been trolling the web trying to figure out what I need to get the A/C going in my B14. I bought a low mileage A/C compressor from a forum member, a drier and pag 150 oil from autozone. I know this is a stupid question but where do I pour the oil into the compressor?! Also the drier I got from autozone doesn't have the electrical connector on it that the oem one has on it, should I use the new one anyway? I need help ASAP! AZ heat is gonna kill me!

Bad mounts will break more than just your hard line. I had that, my header cracked, and radiator went due to bad mounts

This is absolutely what happened. You can't have your motor flopping around without destroying everything attached to it. I had the high pressure power steering hose fail because of this years ago.

1.) From the sound of it, your system is open, so don't worry about pouring in peg oil.

2.) You need to have the correct drier. If you have the old one, take it with you to a parts store and have them match it up, or get the one from rockauto.com

3.) Make sure your seals are good, or it will not matter if you have all new parts as the freon will leak out and you will need to have it charged all over again.

4.) Take it to a shop and have them professionally vacuum the system and recharge it. This is something you don't want to do half way if you don't want to be charging your system every summer, do it right the first time. No shortcuts with A/C, it's to hot for the extra headache.
