Before the honey roasting begins just know; I did search. I have gathered much information but have not found a definitive answer. I have a ve’d classic and all the jdm A/C components. I have all the b13 A/C lines. Can I simply splice the ve and b13 A/C lines together for cold A/C; or am I missing something. Also what type of coolant does the ve compressor require? I see that member 92 sentra from japan has done something similar but he does not elaborate further on what it entailed. If your running a ve compressor let me know how you did it.

Remember those lines hold pressure so. For all of you with r12 systems, look up this product freeze 12, its a direct replacement for r12 systems. Saves you some money and you dont have to convert.

What year B13 do you have Agent Nupe? In 1994 (or was it 1993.5?) the B13 switched refrigerants. We'll need to know what year yours is, and if it has been converted to the new refrigerant.

I have a 91 b13. but get this, the lines are from my 95 p10 that I saved from my first swap. They look like they match from the fire wall on down. The small line that runs from the fire wall to the condenser (cone shapped can behind the front bumper) is still attached to the vehicle.

it has not been converted to new refrigerant.

if your compressor is dirty, see if you can find the plate on it, my 93 NX was R12 but my 93.5 G20 is R134a, both had a calsonic plate that said what they were.

Ok, got my replacement compressor DKV14D(covered under warranty, bought one last year and it died in a month of use, installed by a shop btw. so it was supposedly done right). Also got my new high pressure hose from the local dealer. At this point im basically ready, I plan on installing it myself and having a shop vac and pressurize the system, recharge etc. I busted 2 high pressure hoses in a months time last season and dont want that to happen again. I need a/c!

EDIT1; OIL TIP: Medium viscosity is recomended. If your converting from R12 use Ester oil. If you have 134a able comp than use reg medium 100 PAG. I finally figured out... (dont ask how) to rotate the clutch as you pour the oil in. So, yes it is best to do this outside of the car. I just filled it up and used the caps to keep from spilling while I installed it, then simply removed the caps to attach the hoses.

EDIT2; Condesor: I got a little bored and decided to pull the fans out and check the condenser, I have not yet recharged the system and thoght I would look just to be safe. Turns out the condenser is bent and many fins are bent up. The hard lines that connect the drier look pretty bad. I dont really trust it so im gonna buy new. $88 at RockAuto. That blockage could have been backing up the system resulting in the busted hose.

I think im going to find a mini push fan to put inbetween the condensor and the bumper. Just make a bracket and tap into the a/c wire so when the clutch has power the fan will power up. Sound safe? That sould help cool it down even better! Love the GA heat and long hours in traffic. lol. Anyone do the "mini condenser push fan" upgrade? Curious what will fit.

Went to Pull-A-Part north and got the electrical connector today. I looked at some condensors from '95-'97 and even an '01 that look really good with nice hoses. They all look pretty similar to the one in my 93 NX im just not sure if one would work or not. Debating on a $18 used condensor and the $88 new condensor.

So, my question. Do bent fins matter? Any advice on picking out a "good" used condensor?

Also, I picked up a push fan off a 240 while I was there and the bracket that went with it. I'll report when Im all done if there is a noticble difference in cooling or not.

Thanks for the tip, I was looking around on the forum and I saw your post. I started looking into it and found the RX-7 guys use this stuff now vs the freez 12.R134a Replacement Refrigerant with Dye Can Details and Online Ordering at Enviro-Safe, Inc I picked up a case to recharge my R12 S14 system and my NX. I hope it works like they said. Anyone know a good vacuum pump to use? I'm not sure if I'm going to pay my buddies friend to evac my system.

I have a 92 SE-R. My teacher can recharge R-12 because he has a license. If I buy a new compressor from rockauto, should I get the '92 NVR140S (R12 only) compressor or the '94 DKV14D (R12 and R134a) compressor? I'll also be buying a new dryer, expansion valve, seal kit, and condenser to compliment my new compressor.

I read that there have been many improvements in condensers due to the lower cooling efficiency of R134a. If this is true, would it be better to use a '94 condenser instead of a '92 condenser even though I'm going with R12?
