I mean you would just need a spanner wrench and some snap ring pliers?

I've done this on a Suzuki sx4 with no a/c before

^I'm switching my system over to R134a. It's setup for R12. I'll double check everything once the o-rings get here to compare with the kit I bought off a forum member.

2) My AC used to cycle on and off. For over a decade. "That is just the way it is designed." Bah! Apparently the AC is designed to cool your ass off whenever it decides you need cold air. However, a 3-peice UR pulley set made the "cycling" go away. Now it just blows cold as long as I have it cranked. No more cycling.

Here's why:

Dammit. Cannot connect to the other SR20 Forum. There is a thread, started by me, under the Technical Section. It has a bunch of random questions. In it, I ask about the better AC performance, and mechanically adept folks tell me why the AC is working better.

^I'll be running a KOYO, slim fans, and a 4 piece pulley set.

^I just noticed the old forum is not working for me either

Working now....

AC, Fuel Injector, General....questions... - SR20 Forum

That is why the AC works better with the UR AC-pulley (I bought a 3-peice set which included the AC pulley), and the upgraded fans.

You should be in great shape when you get your AC done.

^Thanks for the info

^Do you have pics of the UR A/C pulley? I remember asking about this when I was a newbie on the old forum, but didn't much come of the thread.

Sorry I never got back to you about the Aluminum A/C compressor mounting bracket. Keo says it's from a RR engine. For some reason I thought the VE engines had it too. Anyway, I don't have any pictures. Not sure who does. I know I've seen one before on the forum. It looks similar to the cast iron piece except made of aluminum... Yah. That helps... =/

Doesn't bolt up the same. Trust me Rodney and I tried....We put a DE RR in a G20 and if I remember correctly the AC bolts up differently.

No pics. I was not that computer literate back then. LOL. I can actually post pics now.

However, it was just a "3-peice UR Pulley Set." I *think* I got it from Greg V...not sure. I don't *beleive* that that they package and sell the 3-peice kit anymore. Just the 2 or 4-peice sets. Don't quote me on any of that.

I do know that my AC no longer cycles anywhere close to as much as it did when it was OEM-original. Night and day difference.

Tint + UR AC-pulley + 2X Spal 10" fans = Comfortably cool in Houston.

Any additional B13's in my future will have those mods immediately. I am not interested in an uncomfortable, sweaty-ass-crack, shiney forehead, drippy pits, sauna on wheels. Unless it was a track-only, trailered, stripped down, road course ride.

I'll take the 0.20 second weight penalty in the quarter mile any day to keep my AC intact. A 13.9 second quarter mile (VE motor....) with AC, or a 13.7 second quarter mile with no AC and...Schwetty Balls (SNL reference...)? For any kind of daily driver, that is no brainer when you live in Jungle-Hot Houston.

Dude, do you still have the Japanese one? I have a JDM SR20 and need one in a hurry. Texas heat is a bitch. I'll be happy to take it off your hands. PM me please. See my thread here.

Houston SUCKS. I hate the heat there. Worse than south Florida heat. At least we get a breeze here in FL. My A/C is ICE cold. My gf preferred riding in my stiff car in Houston as opposed to her 08 Matrix because of my A/C. Her Matrix just doesnt cool down as much as my car.

Running a UR crank pulley and alternator pulley.
Electric water pump, no Power steering. (Only got 1 belt!!)
NX2000 Radiator
Soon ill be getting some Spal fans.
