Where to start for diagnosing a problem
GA16DE Motor with 128xxx miles on the engine.
Automatic, stock.

While stopping at a yield sign to turn right, I wasn't at a complete stop and all of a sudden the car just dies when I give it gas to go. The dash accessory lights are on. I pull over coasting while in drive. I put it in park, turn the ignition to off and try and start it again, it does start, but wants to jump from 800- 1200 rpms for about the next couple minutes while driving it coasting down the hill. All of a sudden after those minutes later, everything is back to normal, no wierd noises or problems with the car.

What I am wanting to know is why would the car just shut off by itself? No check engine light or anything after I managed to start the car up again.

EDIT: Googled the problem and it sounds like she's needing a fuel injector cleaner.

I don't think running a cleaner through your fuel system and motor is a good idea. Check your MAF connection. If you want to clean your injectors, take them out and clean them.

Oh sorry didn't mean I would use a cleaner, Monday since I'm off I would cleaned them, thanks to Vadim's http://www.sr20-forum.com/general-sr20/3817-useful-nissan-sentra-information.html where it states:

2. Never use fuel injector cleaner! It will eat at your injectors and leave them mishappen. All Nissans have had self-cleaning injectors since the mid-80's. If you must clean them, have it done physically.

i gotta agree check your maf, one time in my first se-r.. seriously right after i got to golden gardens 07, on the coast down the hill once i came to a stop the car died, started right back up but had to keep on the gas to make it move.. well all the way back down past portland from seattle it would keep doing it.. as soon as i lets say.. pushed the clutch in.. the car would die... now i never figured out why.. but i cleaned the maf.. cai and cleaned up the dizzy cap + rotor with some light sand paper.. one of those stopped the car from dying on me when i coasted up to lights or stop signs.. but for some reason the rpms would bounce from 400-1000.. the car kept doing this for a long time well one day i wrecked the car.. bought another .. swapped motors an it STILL DID IT.. i was even using a differnt maf an buncha other stuff... so the engine that came in the new car that was blown i was gonna use the cap an rotor.. but when tryin to take my rotor off the screw head snapped off.. so i just change the whole distributor... once i did that all problems went away.. now i dont know if it was cause the new cap an rotor.. or the new distributor.. but none the less the problem was gone...

my advice to you is check the maf and check the dizzy cap an rotor.. if that dont help try the fuel filter... my gf's ga16 has 226k miles on it.. i havent changed the oil in 14k miles.. it burns oil so i just replace whats missing.. car runs like a champ!!!!! im sure whatever problem your having is most likely easy to fix.. especialy since the ga cars are simpler then the sr's an cheaper!
