Why would you get head studs for 300-350whp? Why even open the block?

i plan on building a vet, with eagle rods, vet pistons, dual springs and titainum retainers, stock ve cams. i also plan to use a 8cw crank and have everything spun balanced.

is this overdoing it or what?

Never underestimate the owner of the car. He only stated that his goals are currently 300~350whp. Not that he doesn't ever plan on running more boost, etc. etc.

This is EXACTLY what I was referring to, above.

I have no experience with the VE motor, so someone else should chime in here. Sounds to me like you're building something to take more than 350whp, though. Your T28 would be the limiting factor, IMO.

agree with tekkie about your plans to build something to take more than 350whp.

if your budget can afford to build something like this then i would go for it. if you're only going to stay at 350 then you should have a really reliable motor.

but if you're planning to make bigger power in the future it's best to just do it right the first time. sounds like you've got that under control.

If you're going to build (IMO) then build her right the first time with other peoples' experience as a guide. This way, if you eventually feel like setting your sights on anything more than about 350fwhp, you don't have to sweat.

Just think it through - if you're going for reliability, do what's tried and true.

going back to the jun studs, i've been led to believe they are actually made by arp ?

does anyone know different ?

So, its safe to say that the AEBS studs are better than the ARP ones, but what about the stock ones????? I have to decide.Right now,I have the stock studs in mind.
