It seems like on the east coast NOX is the main one that affects our MD folks.

We don't have anything in my small town, so I'm happy for that

As for raising the timing, thats true, DC Scotty dropped his timing to like 13* and he was able to pass MD emissions

^^I agree with that statement... But also added reinstalled the AIV for more air in the exhaust stream (hotter cat).
And NOX is the B13 killer for MD emissions.

I also agree with the above recommendation to raise the octane level is by adding 93 octane fuel to the tank.
Drive it til almost empty and then fillup with all 93 octane.

I have a small airport right by my house they let me buy avgas 107 octane if you have one close maybe fill with that you should be fine

Keep in mind that most octane boosters have Manganese in it which is very corrosive. It will put a rust color on your spark plug tips and shorten the lifespan of the spark plugs.

i dont think a stock de or ve needs higher then 87, that bein said i dont even touch the ****.. only 92+ from chevron for me thanks.. i've tried octane boosters.. never noticed a difference in the butt dyno. i think you will be safe either way, jus baby her to a gas station then filler up with the good stuff

87 on a stock ve is not safe.

why is that, the compressions not very high, so is there another reason, im sure he could make it to the gas station

YOu said that 87 was ok for a ve. Maybe you worded your sentence wrong and it sounds liek your saying its ok for everyday. 87 is way too low for 10:1 compression or higher.

lmao i see, ya i meant just to the nearest gas station.. Or add some octane booster.. the expensive stuff.. is the ve 10:1 ? thats something i havent looked into

ve is 11:1....so yea u need higher then 87
