cam timming???
I think my timming chain jumeped a tooth wile I was asembling the bottem end , I noticed when I went to put on the head , I lined it up using TDC and setting the cams to 10 and 12 , and counted the links in between and there are 20 rollers and it looks like it skipped one I think it is right now what do you think ??? even though the silver links dont line up ??

I think it is right , but the marks are off , I think it
skipped a link some how while being spun around , ( on eng stand )

looks right. 20 links btw 10 and 12. Don't worry about the colored links, the odds of getting those to line up are like 1 in 200 revolutions. Snap it together and enjoy the ride.
clean motor btw

if your talking about the crank pulley marks arent lined up then its possible but your using a ve oil pump housing correct, if so there is practically no way for the crank to skip a tooth on the chain with that newer design like that. Ive had it happen on de motors when turning it over and there was some slack on the tensioner side of the chain then when i went to turn it over after installing the tensioner it skipped one tooth. the cam gears will still line up perfect when at 10 and 12 but the crank was off by a tooth too far. it had skipped one tooth on me. Just took the gears off the cams and turned the crank back to tdc and relined the cams. Simple as that.

But with that ve front cover its impossible. the guide on the housing surrounds the entire chain unlike the de/det ones that have just two little pins to help keep it from skipping but it sometimes still does.

Neways your cams look perfect as long as the crank marks on the pulley are at the tdc mark. You will be able to tell. Cuz one tooth on the crank is like 20 deg off on timing.

It's ok. 20 rollers between marks. Crank is at 12 o clock while intake is at 10 and exhaust at 12 o clock. If it's a tooth off you'll see immediately.

Yeah only on DE(t), covers will it skip a tooth like that on the bottom part. Although I would check again it looks like you have quite a bit of slack in between cam gears.

A couple of months ago when I was installing my cams, the chain jumped on me while turning the cam to get them aligned..... it wasn't until I tried to turn the motor on when I figured out that I had bent a intake valve.

Looks right to me.

They let you build your motor at work.

Air station > boat station
