NX2000 Cruist Control - Help!
Ok, so I bought a Sapphire Blue NX2k over the summer, and since I got it the horn and the cruise control have never worked. I'm finally getting around to trying to fix it. I have all of the things under the hood needed to work the cruise control, so I finally looked in the steering column and found that the flat ribbon cable that does all of the cruise control stuff is unhooked, but I can't find where it plugs into? Anyone who has a working cruise control who could shed a bit of light or post pictures showing where the wires go, would be helping me out a lot. Aside from cruise control, the Haynes manual also says that the horn is powered through the CC wiring, so if I can get that plugged in I will finally have a horn as well!

Here is a picture of the wire I am talking on, it's a flat ribbon cable with a yellow plug. At first I thought it was part of the Air-bag system, but haynes says otherwise.

What does the Cruise Control module box look like under the dash even? I can't find pictures of it, and the Haynes manual has nothing... I'm guessing my wires should run to it, but I don't exactly know what to look for... still can't find any more open wires or plugs anywhere...

Did you ever have any luck getting this working? I just bought a '92 SE-R that the cruise doesn't work on either. The previous owner said it was working the last time he used it.

It should be obvious there where it plugs in behind the steering wheel.

Check the clutch and brake pedal switches for cruise, I bet one is bad...cheap fix! Paperclip to diagnose...

Wow, I just happened to notice the revival of my old thread...

Sadly I never really messed with it. I ended up rebuilding my engine this summer and threw on a GTi-R intake manifold on my DE which doesn't have the extra pulley for the cruise control cable so I removed the rest of the system. If I could make it would I would do it in a heartbeat, but just never made it a priority. It would be nice to have that system fixed though so my horn would work again... I was actually thinking about tackling this semi soon for my horn.

Maybe I'll take a look at it all when I swap over to a black interior in the next week or two...

For you guys with the cruise randomly not working, we're likely having different issues. The whole wiring and clip for it on mine is gone (was pulled by a previous owner). So I have no hints or tricks for ya to check out... hell I don't even know where the wires go normally because I don't have them to look at! I'm going to have to make my own harness to hook it up if I ever do.
