NX starter problem
I picked up this NX a few years ago. The starter stopped working the day I bought the car. It sat for a while and I finally replaced the starter with a used one from Andreas Miko. It worked for a few weeks and stopped again. I put the car in storage and a year or so went by.

The other day I went to start the car and it was not working... until the second time I turned the key, it turned over and started right up. After that I have not been able to get it to start again without push starting it.

Is this an electrical issue? is there some sort of short? bad ground? is this starter just crap? Should I swap it or look for another issue?

Any advice is greatly appreciated

There is really no way to diagnose this one with symptoms that you have described. It could just be that the connector to the solenoid is loose. If this connector seems OK, I would check to see if you are getting power to the stater solenoid when you turn the ignition switch. If there is no power, then the starter may be OK, and there is some issue with your ignition switch or wiring. If you are getting power to the solenoid, then check for 12V coming to the starter motor. If that's good, then look for a starter ground issue or bench test the starter.

take the starter off and bench test it.

get under the car make sure every connection is snug... after that literally tap the solenoid area and motor with a mallet. I know it sounds stupid, but if you haven't tried it try it a couple times. If it starts its not electrical... I had this issue on the nx I sold earlier this year. I don't think its an NX thing though.
