wooow i had the same exact thing happen to me but i hit a deer. the damage was exactly the same and my insurance company ended up totaling it, but i wouldnt let it go so i bought it back and used the money to fix it. It sucks but my damage looked identical to yours and its all better now and i even made out with some money in the end. good luck with it though

bullfrog, did they give ur car a salvage title?

they said the car was worth $1650, after the 500 deductible and then a 300 buy-back i would only get about 800 dollars to help fix it again.

Well then look at it this way.

$200 for some Crystal Clear or Black Housing headlights with corners

$50 for a fender from a junk yard (get the same colored one )

$20 for Honeycomb grill on eBay

How ever much an new hood costs, might be a good time to get a CF hood if you were wanting to before haha.

i would do that vadim but the rad and the ac condenser need replaced also. they are bent in the middle and the rad leaks from the top a slight amount.

and the support braces need to be re-done for the rad.

i already have a brand new bumper and left side fender.

ive narrowed it done a little.

either

A. Let insurance total it, take the 800 and get it fixed and then re-titled. (anyone know anything about how difficult, or how much it costs to get a title for a car when it was once salvage)

or

B. Let insurance total it, take 800, find more money somehow to find a new car and then have two cars to bounce parts back and forth from the bad car to the good car.

if u are going to total the car out and then get another car to take parts from it then whats the point? u might as well drop the claim get the other car and swap evrything. just skip the middle man. reason i say this is because its a pain to get a salvage title. depending on your state laws u will have to go through 3 inspections which u have to pay for. fill lots of paper work 4 days becuse the state wants 2 kno what u doing with the car. oh did i mention theres a tax somewere in between that. u will have to buy your title and re register your car which is more cash. . . c were im going? check the laws on what u have to do with the salvage title then go from there. you can spend upwards of 400 dollers or more for your inspections titles registrations and everything else in the middle

Btw why is it costing you $800, I understand a $500 deductible, but if it's the other car's insurance covering you then that shouldn't be there, unless this is your fault and then your premiums will be kinda high. Sometimes it's not even worth dealing the the insurance company when it's your fault.

I would try to ignore them and fix the car and that way your title stays good, or part the crap out of the car, and then give the car to scrap metal to get like $300 back!

Example of this

No they didnt give it a salvage title, the only thing is im not able to have the same coverage anymore, so thats why i decided to keep it. They ended up giving me $3,070 for mine minus the $500 deductible. It cost me $1200 to get it fixed so I made out with about $1000. I would just check and see if you can get away without a salvage title because they had told me they did not issue them to cars that were older than seven years or something like that. I hope that helped ya out a bit feel free to ask anymore questions.

claim adjuster told me the car was worth 1650. take out 500 for deductible and then i have to pay 300 to get the car back into my possession.

1650-800=850
