Battery tender?
Might go a different route from the battery relocation - it's been suggested to me that I consider a battery tender, rather than a relocated battery.

Anyone used one? What have been your experiences? I'm looking for one that I can use while the battery is installed and connected to the car, and I don't want something that will damage either the battery or the car's electrical system.

Any info appreciated.

Ive used Battery Tender for maintaining boat batteries during winter storage.

It keeps the battery from freezing & maintains a full charge without killing/boiling the internal plates.
Never had any problems with them. They are sold in different sizes for muliple battery setups.

Dont know how you are planning to use as a relocation option. It is a trickle charger used to maintain a battery charge during storage.

Braille Battery - 2 Amp Trickle Charger

"Extend Battery Life
The Braille Electronic Battery Charger is a safe reliable way to extend the life of your Braille Battery or any 12 volt battery in your house or shop."

They have a great setup there. Something that you could probably use.

Let me know how you like it. I'll be ordering one when I order my battery from them if you give it some good reviews. I'd be interested to see how your install goes and where you run the wiring.

Actually didn't order the one you linked. Here's mine:

Battery Tender 022-0150DLWH - Deltran Battery Waterproof 800 Charging Systems - summitracing.com

I'm not going to hard-wire it, I'll just use the alligator clips and unhook when I drive the car. This is only for winter on my end as I've never had these problems in warmer weather.

They work really well, just make sure whatever you use that it has an auto turn off feature when the battery reaches full charge, or the battery will dry up.

Well, it's here.

I LOVE having Summit so close by - I get everything in a day as long as I order early enough.

It's charging my battery as I type... I'll be curious to see how this thing behaves over the next few weeks.
