Thread: can or no can?

now that im finishing my catback i just need to find out what i should do about it.

right now i just have piping and a glasspack in there but in ny all you need is a muffler and the glasspack is a muffler so im set with that. should i put the apexi n1 can on there just so cops dont give me trouble and say that i dont have a muffler? or should i forget about adding the extra weight and just let it run straight pipe out the back?

either one will be loud. I've run straight pipe, and put a walmart tip over it, and never had a cop question it.. until he snuck up behind me when i was in 3rd at WOT... cai, header, no cat, and straight pipe = loud as hell.. not to mention it was in vtec, with that mean cam..

it doesnt seem to be too loud tho thats the thing. its deep but not too loud

the muffler doesnt weigh that much so i would just put it on, it would probably tone the exhaust down some which will be a good thing

i just dont want it to add a worse tone to it cuz i love the tone how it is right now. its deep but not entirely ricey

well would you be able to get a spound clip of the exhaust as it sits now?

personally i dont think a tip would cause that much of a difference in tone and it would make the cops think you have a exhausst, last thing you want is cops on your ass

Get a muffler. If you want it to be quieter, get something with a small tip, or just get a universal Magnaflow, same size as your catback, and just put the muffler on

That Magnaflow looks pretty nice, I wonder how loud it is...

i heard his setup i think it sounds pretty good and its not so obvious that is doesnt have a muffler on it.

like i told him getting pulled over is really attributed to the actual exhaust that might catch the cops eye, then they associate the sound with the exhaust and then you get pulled over..
