strange firing on external coil dizzy
I've wired up a external coil dizzy on my car, but when I test for spark I am seeing the following:

When turning the shaft by hand forward, 2&3 spark great, while 1&4 don't spark, except for the odd occasional bad spark.

If I turn the shaft in the opposite direction, I get the opposite effect. ie. 1&4 sparks well, but 2&3 barely spark at all.

Does this mean my rotor and cap are bad, or is it something else maybe? Any ideas??

The dizzy only has 4 pins arranged in a square manner.

Anyone have the pinout for it? Looking into the pins on the dizzy, I have 5v+ going into the top right, 180deg signal wire on the top left, and Ground wire on the bottom left. Bottom right is 360 deg signal and not used for the management system.

so the only wiring that can be wrong is + and -

I don't think it will pick up signal and spark at all if that were the case? Am I wrong?

maybe the coil + and - is the wrong way around?
