Help! Removing intake manifold
I'm working on getting my intake manifold off so I can throw on my o2 induction one. I am stuck, I cannot for the life of me get the manifold off. The upper section is off, the low section I cannot get. It seems like i've removed all the bolts, and brackets, but it still will not budge. I don't know if anyone has been through this before, maybe there are some very hard to find bolts or something. All i know is i need some help

should just be like 7 bolts/nuts to remove and it should just pull off. the gasket is just paper so its not stuck on the head. are all of the sensors/idle control items removed or unplugged?

Do you have the large coolant hose off from the hard lines going to the thermostat? It goes from the hard line to the IM under the runners.

Sorry I missed your aol text. It transferred to my cell and by the time I responded, you had already got offline. PM me your phone number, I never saved it in my phone.

Also, there are 8 bolts/studs holding the runners on.

I think i found the mystery bolt...but it looks like to get to it, I would need to remove the oil filter bracket...and to get that off, i think i might need to move the power steering pump...WTF...why can't this be easy

Do you not have a wrench to fit in there? You should be able to.

Take a dremel or file to it! I have never had a problem getting to it on highports or lowports, I wouldn't think the 98 would be any different. It is a tight squeeze, but I have always been able to massage a wrench in there

from what angle do you get to it from? It's the lower bolt on the far passenger side. Behind the oil filter bracket...I'm so frustrated
