I've decided on this axle right here. While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at PartsAmerica.com
Only thing is that is doesn't say if it's for an auto or manual trans.
Are the right side axles the same for both auto and manual trans?

That's a good point, the torque specs for axle nuts are 145-202ft-lbs. I weight a good 215, with a pipe in and me standing on it it should be tightening at well over 200ft-lbs . But to be safe I would use the right equipment if you have it

what kind of warrenty on them from napa? might be easier to snag 2 of these for my 6 speed conversion than find a spec being parted out, as im not doing anything but n/a bolt ons.

i remember asking my bud that works in nissan parts dept. he told me 450 an axle

Damn, I sound like a newb.:o

As described in the link that Vadim provided, it's best to remove the tie rod and lower strut mounting bolts to extract the outer end of the axle from the hub.

Then you will need to remove the bolts that hold the axle in the carrier bracket (passenger side only -- driver's side is a whole different thing). The passenger side axle then should slide out pretty easily. Just feed it out through the carrier bracker (the thing that has a round hole in it). And the new one should go back in pretty easily. Turn and jiggle it a little to line up the splines and get the angle right and it should slide right in.

Again, thanks. You guys are a big help. About my last post, is that axle the corect one for my car? 1998 200sx se-r, I was just wondering if the right side axle is the same for both autos and manuals. In that link, it doesn't say if it's for a auto or manual trans.

I have no different parts listing as for manual or auto, so it seems they are the same

Question here. Will a bad axle cause a grinding sound? I have a grinding sound on the passenger front, this happends while in reverse with the wheel turned. Could it be a wheel bearing?

That sounds like a the axle. Usually when it's coming while turning its the axle.

Now I also had a grinding like noise, but only when driving at low speeds. That was because my axle seal was leaking, so the tranny oil was getting low.

So make sure you buy a new seal, otherwise once your old one starts leaking, it's not fun to pull the axle out again...

This only happends in reverse, with the wheel turned. I'm guessing this thing is on it's last leg. Maybe the lack of greese, no lubrication.
