I wish we didn't have to remove the vc each time to adjust cam gears though.

Had STG 2's and went with STG 3's with this build. Supertech valves with BC springs and retainers.

Hell yeah it's been cold! We got snow up here this morning. Not much, but enough to make you not want to go outside.

Yeah i dont think you will come anywhere near 170whp, put it this way, in my first se-r (b13) i had a basicly brand spankin new jdm de motor, im talking this thing was spotless, no wear on the cams, crystal clear under the valve cover, i mean soo clear you could barely tell there was oil in there. it looked like it came out of a brand new car. it was that freakin clean It looked as though it was brand spankin new.

Neways that motor with an ssac 2.25 header, 2.5" manderal bent exhaust, gutted cat, jwt pop charger with short ram 3" intake, ur pullies, JUN ultralightweight flywheel, clutch, jwt s3 cams (which are comparable to your stage 2's) i made 155whp 142wtq and ran 14.2 @97mph in the 1/4 on street tires. in a slightly weight reduction b13, nothing major. So that will kinda tell you where your at and to be honest youll be lucky if your stage 2's without being degreed make even 155whp. Maybe 155-160 when degreed +2.5 intake -2.5 exhaust you could pick up a couple ponies.

They def are a drop in cam. As far as i know mostly every cam is not perfect and you would gain some horespower with cam gears n e ways.

There is no comparison the s4's OWN the bc2's

Listen man I had them in a my boosted b13 and they SUCKED and showed maybe a slight bump in power. I was running S3's before and should have just stayed with them because they owned the bc's too and for the record they were installed right. I also knew a few guys that had them in there n/a b13's and they were even worst. My best example of how inferior they are is my track times. I went from running 13.0-13.2's @ 108-111mph to 13.3-4's@ 104-106. Same set-up, same tune, same 60ft's, same track and same weather, etc....

And yes technical they are a drop in cam even though bc recommends s/r's and maybe alot of people running these w/o s/r's are getting some valve float up top, which I think is happening after looking at my dyno with them??? Who knows.... but from what i hear the s13 guys run these with cam gears and s/r's and do well, so maybe thats the formula, I don't know. I just know what they did for me and that was squat!

EVERY motor differs. I have no problems with my BC cams. I have yet to dyno my car to see what it does, but I'm planning on doing so when I go home for Christmas. My highest trap was 112mph with really ****ty 60' times and 1/4mi. times, and that was on 15psi of boost, which isn't even really in the turbo's efficiency (sp?) range.

What turbo and are you talking about 2's or 3's?

I don't care if your boosted or n/a overall bc's are not as good as jwt's period!
I don't know why people keep disputing it?? It has been proven over and over.....What else do people need to see???? Show me a dyno where bc2's out dyno s3's let alone s4's........

Get cam gears set them at +2 -2 dyno it and then see if +4 or -4 will turn over in your motor and dyno. I run my DD at +2 -2 and it pulls pretty hard but not over 150 whp I wouldn't think. If I keep it I will be see what I can do with stg3 and cam gears on the dyno.

Now I think the stage3's definitely have some potential tuned of course...

dude what dont u understand. this is no comparison thread. the only person comparing is you. so what are you talking about. this thread is about BC STAGE 2 not LETS COMPARE BC 2 TO S4. nobody is arguing that bcs are better. ppl have diffrent experinces man. can we stay on topic.

check out this thread for dyno numbers on the stage 2s... there are some differences in setup and this is on a lowport G20, but it has dyno numbers with before and after. after seeing this thread, it made me consider the stg 2s. and if you have time, its some good reading material.

Post 1 has mods info
Post 80 at end of page 4 has before and after hp numbers
Post 95 on page 5 has breakdown of hp and torque by rpm with comparison of with and without cams.. hope this helps.
