Why So Slow at Warming Up?
Alright so I'm trying to figure out why my car is so slow on warming up and hitting the 170*F-180*F heat range, this was a problem with my old motor and the new one.

When I used to back-up drive the 1996 Maxima GLE (VQ30DE), it would warm up way faster then my Sentra. Now I didn't think about it too much because I figured better overall car thus heats up faster.

Once again I didn't give it much thought until I started daily driving the 2000 G20 P11 (SR20DE RR), in the cold, and that thing heats up so much faster then my car! Similar engine, but higher class cars (both the Maxima and G20).

Any reason why my car would take so long to warm up?

VQ30 = big engine and V6
SR20 = liter smaller and I4

There's the answer

Mine also takes forever.

It was replaced last year when I noticed even slower heat up times, I'm wondering if I have air bubbles in the system...

But I also have a SR20 G20 that's as fast as the Maxima on heating up

Mine warms up instantly when I do a 1-3rd gear pull

Actually I think it's been getting better, I changed the oil, had too much in there, so I think that contributed to the slower warm up times. Now I should have right on the line

I think it's just the whole deal of the car being rattly when cold ahah.

I've found I-4s to heat up faster than their bigger counterparts. i've owned both and nothing warmed up faster than my 4-bangers. Think about it. its less area for heat to spread. check your t-stat
