best brake pads for a DD
hey guys and gals. The last time I brought pads, I had bobcats. I have done some searching and the only thing I see that are being commented on are the EBC line and remember hawk from previous threads.

What do you guys reccomend now?

My hawk HPS pads are making noises, if you can deal with the constant squeel then the are fine when the heat up. Granted I may have done something wrong because I am not sure why they make so many weird noises.

OEM Nissan pads are fine for the street. They give you all the stopping power and fade resistance that you need. Good wear and low dust also.

This combination gives me brake fade in under 60 seconds and complete brake loss in less than 120 seconds on the street (stock power, B13 weight).

I'd recommend Hawk HPS pads all day long. They are the go-to aggressive street pad. They are not supposed to make noise, so you shouldn't have to worry about that. SeenSense, something is wrong with yours. =/

Yea I was I did a google search and found it to be a common problem with the fastbrakes kit. I am assuming since i am using cheap rotors and that the pads are making noises. Unless I have faulty calipers.

Fastbrakes kit here too. No noises from mine ever since I switched from Wilwood "D" racing pads to the HAWK HPS. Maybe try a little of the grease between the piston and the back of the pad they sell at auto part stores?

Thanks Ben I am going to try that actually. The noises have become quite serious. I thought the pads were aggressive and causing rotor wear. But they stop nicely from 100-0 once they are warm.

Yup I agree. If you atleast have the NX brakes up front, then Nissan pads all around are all you need for a daily driver. I use these pads religously on my wife's max with good quality rotors and they do just fine even slowing a big car like a max from 120mph to 60mph very effectively. Long pad life, no noise at all and minimal brake dust. What else do you want?

I got Axxis ultimate's, and I love them for the street. I have never had fade but that is with street use and autocross only.

i had axis ultimates on my last b13 with AD22VF brakes and slotted and dotted rotors (needed rotors, found em super cheap.......just get blankes) then i installed goodridge lines and dot4 fluid......damn fines braking power. by far the best brakes i ever had.
