oil leak above transmission?
I have a 91 sentra that developed an oil leak from the drivers side above the tranny. looks like a hose leading to a box but kind of difficult to tell/see. anyone knowwhat this could be?

sounds like you might have excesive blowby. Once when mine was covered with oil I removed all the pcv lines and cleaned them. Also cleaned out the oil seperator. Reinstalled and replaced my pcv valve and it stayed clean for over a year. It got dirty again but this time mainly because that hose cracked. Replaced the hose and all is clean and good again.

Could be your distributor also. Check under it to see if it's leaking from there.

ok finally had time to check my distributor.... there was a LITTLE leak but not enough to cause the puddle i have been seeing drip from underneath the tranny. not the master cylinder or brake lines. any more ideas? right now that blowby issue seems to be a good idea. what exactly is blowby?
