cant get auto tranny into park
hi last night the car was fighting me to go from reverse to park. i finally got it into park and then later when i went to go into drive i couldnt get into drive. after fighting it went and i drove home. now i cant get back into park. i can go into any other gear. i had a aftermarket shift know with the collar and removed it to make sure it wasnt the problem. i have a question is the white pointy piece suppose to go down into the shaft or touch its top cause to me it seems like that thing aint goin down enough? hope some one with a auto can help thanks.

does anyone know if the white angled part should go down into the rod or if it rests on it. and is there anyway to bypass the button and get this thing into park? well i am gonna go play with it be right back...

ok the car is all back together and done. it turned out to be the stupidest thing so hopefully anyone else with this problem finds this... you know that white angled piece that pushes down? well good ole aftermarket shift knob threaded it down more then it should of so it was hitting the shifter rod thing way before it could engage. so i guess this will end up being a tune up item for me so it never happens. thanks for all the help and merry christmas i know i will sleep better
