yep, SDF was an awesome guy, he enjoyed every minute working on his car, he also had that thread of what almost every single piece in the car that he took off weighed. He is the one that weighed the sound deadning material that he scraped off the floor pans. 52lbs or something in that range plus the carpet which was a couple pounds. I believe his car once done was in the low 1900 range, which is redicoulously light. He had a full exhaust too, had he been all out and just ran open header he could have saved another 40lbs plus and been sub 1900. I want to get mine right at the 2000lb mark and ill be happy.

Again he is a great guy and was an all out sr lover. I wonder what he is up to these days.

This sounds like a great guy with all the post I have read. Yo, SE-Rican, did you give him a call? I wonder if he still has a SRpowered car? It seems that it would be great to have him back.

Na no more SR powerd cars for him I dont think. Last I saw he was into the V8 world. He was playing with Mustangs. I think his dad had a pretty rare one and he was going to hook one up to or something.

Gotta love Mustangs even if you dont like them. a 2200lbs Foxbody with an easy 400+whp V8 is easy and fun as hell!!

Well i just weighed my car last night, i removed the carpet, sound deadning material, and firewall mat, well about 90 percent of it, there are some spots where you would have to take basicly everything out to get it off. Neway I also had the back seat cusions out and the passenger seat out.

The rest of my weight reduction consits of no a/c inside the bay at all, none behind the dash at all, no front or rear bumper supports, no power steering, no abs or sunroof (base model se-r) No exhaust on the car other than the header at the end of the 2.5" secondary, no heat shields under the car. Anything in the bay that didnt need to be there was removed. No unnecessary brackets on the motor.

My weight without me in the car with the needle almost on the E line. so about 1.5 gallons left in the tank i came out at 2080 lbs.

I still want to get the carbon fiber hood good for about 32 lbs, a 9lb battery to replace my monstrous duralast gold, good for another 33 lbs, once i get a daily driver i will remove the back seatbelts and all the back panels. Im gonna leave the door panels though. Should be good for around 20lbs maybe more. Then lastly i eventually want to do the quarter windows and rear window in lexan, good for probably around 40 lbs. So all in all i can easily be sub 2000 lbs without doing anything crazy like door cutting or no dash, door panels, just basic removals that if ever needed i can put right back on.

But then once i turbo the ve motor the weights gonna go back up a bit being the turbo kit and intercooler are quite heavy compared to an 18lb header.

Wow, nice weight. Have you gone through the dash and engine bay harness yet? i know with relays and modules i dropped a good 20-30 lbs of crap that was not needed. (B14 though) There was some foam above my headliner and some styrofoam in the doors that was easily removed as well.

no the b13's dont have that much wiring harness to even really worry about it. I think with what i mentioned above i will be sub 2000 lbs pretty easily, probably 1950 range or so again without doing anything drastic. Thats a pretty good weight and the car should definetly move pretty good once the motor is done.
