Bolt coatings

Is there a coating I can do myself, at home, with no special equipment, to help keep bolts from corroding/rusting?

Other than spraypaint?

Home powder coating maybe? Most everything else is electro-plating

dying or anodizing is the only good option. Ano requires time and special stuff. dying/blaclening dosen't.

Remember, a coating on the threads may affect the coefficient of friction and that will change the torque specs for any critical application.
