This is a car that was built by Reg Cook in New Zealand about 3 years ago. It was built in about a month, and fitted with a 2.2 litre sr20 engine. It was pretty well stripped out, and was running slicks. It ran 12.2 down the 1/4 mile. I dont know how much power it made, but i would think that it would have had to have been well over 200whp.

Unfortunatly they decided to take it to the next level and make a tube frame front for it, and the project lost its way. The chassis ended up getting crushed and a new one was started, but that has lost its way too. The intention of the new car was to do some drag runs, then set it up for a land speed record at bonneville. I know he got a 20v head to work on for the engine for it, but other than that, not too sure where its going to go at this stage.

Its interesting to see those old touring car engines, Reg Cook has a couple there for some reason, but i think he got them to look at the cams and head work more than to use them.

Pretty sweet motor I wonder how long it would last. And it would be nice if there was some more info on the fuel/spark system and for that matter more info at all around. Everything on the page is so vague.
