I would drill a little hole at the ends of the crack. This will keep it from cracking more. Then just jb-weld it and hope for the best
ya, if i had a tig outfit, thats what i'd do. think i'll try the "stop-drilling" trick. we did that in the USAF on A-10 pylons as a temp fix
1st i'll jb-weld the drain plug in place so as to put a little opening stress on the crack. and finally jb-weld the crap out of the cracked area trying to force some into the stop drill hole. hey, i have nothing to lose if it doesn't hold. if it works (down the road) i'll drill and tap another drain hole.
Chris, thanks for the offer. you're the man
plz hang onto that tranny. if this doesn't work, i'll be contacting you.
when/how'd it happen? i actually remember hearing a snap back in 05 when i was wrapping up the VE swap. WARNING! do not over tighten the drain plug.:o i'm surprised it lasted this long
