My 10:1 JDM Motor Pre-Install

Most 10 to 1 compression motors come with tubular headers. This can be seen easily by looking at the UK motor with the Candy Apple Red valve cover rated at 150 HP. We know all these motors are all 10 to 1. The diffrence from 140 HP to 150 HP is 10 HP that 10 HP can be broken down to about 6 HP from the header and 4 HP for the compression.
Trust me when I tell you, all this hassel for a 10 to 1 motor is not worth the effort.
Now, the reason why you see 10 to 1 motors with diffrent oil tubes is because they have the tubular header and heat sheild. If you have a tubular header and heat sheild and try and put it on the regular motor the header will go on but the heatsheild will not fit. The longer tube is done for clearance for the heatsheild.
Yes, that's exactly how mine is. The tube test holds up, here's my motor just off the pallet, I doubt Dave would have bothered to call it 10:1 if it wasn't, and the head code holds up too, not that it's a big deal to me - like you said, tubular mani stock wasn't that bad, that looks like where a good part of that hp bump came from compared to the USDM stock mani:

Motor was super clean, not cleaned at all prior to those pics - right out of the donor. Looks like it was hooked up to an AT maybe, not a trace of clutch dust here:
The intake side of the motor really show little old lady owner, the area where the fuel spray hits is usually cleaned by the detergents in the gas, if you ever see WOT, all this motor ever saw was a spittle's worth of throttle. Somewhere I have those pics, internals.
