drifting rant
I'm really sick of all these high school kids and bandwagon guys following the "madd tyte drift scene".. I personally wanted an S13 coupe since I first saw them on gran turismo many years ago with a silvia front end, but I chose to stay FWD due to the ease of maintaining and changing parts (face it, without a garage and a cherry picker, it's almost impossible to even change the clutch).

So now that I have a place to work on my cars, I would like to get a 240sx, but all of these scene kiddies decided to rape just about every 240sx for sale. It really irritates me because all of the prices have been jacked up, and all these inexperienced "drifters" end up turning them into rice and wrecking them.. it truly reminds me of the honda scene during the late 90's

If you are associated with any of the fore mentioned, get a rope and hang yourself.

Really? I installed the tranny by holding it up and my buddy tightened the nuts.

wait you stayed fwd because you think it's easier to work on???

have you ever worked on a 240 it's wayyy easier
all you have to do to change the clutch is pull the driveshaft and drop the tranny
it's like an 2 hour job total

on a fwd i have to take off both wheels, take off the axles, then try and manuever the tranny out lol

and changing all the accesories is wayy easier because they are all up front and arent against the wheel well

Should have done the S13 from the start. Maintenance is no reason to pass on a S13 they are simple.

Stole my latest S13 for a cool $530. Needs a new engine harness as the old one was chopped up to bits, but it'll be all good.

True.. I have always worked on FWD, so RWD was something I wasn't familiar with. Now that I have a daily driver I'd like to jump into a project S13.

I wish I was that lucky, it seems almost impossible here in FL.

to be honest, I remember how cheap the S13 was BEFORE "fast and furious" or whatever it's called, and before all the TV shows supporting the drift scene.. They were newer, stock and low miles, and cost less than they do now with high miles and rust.

Man, I miss my S13... I loved it to death. And yea, it was 100 times easier to work on. Unlike my B14, I could easily get to most everything. And don't even getting me started on the tranny... yea, I can drop a tranny on a B14 and replace the clutch in a few hours... but that now. After a few years of learning.

I wanted a S13 coupe as a slide project but I can't find a 91+ SE coupe & stick. All the trendy kids pick up all the manual ones and leave us with the single slamming autos......

So iv looked another direction....FCs......rare.......AEs........rare........ bwm 3s.......rare+hard to come by...........SC300.....expencive........old school supra......rare.......s13s and s14? All over the place but auto.......seems like ima have to get like a iroc Z and start sliding it around miami lol

exactly my problem, although I'm not looking for a "drift car" per se.. I see no point in it really. Why in the hell would anyone want to lose control on a turn is beyond me.
